A post from the rain

Goodness, it's been almost two months! I have been reading here and I've even started the odd post, then a cat landed on my keyboard or something and...
Anyway, here I am. What shall I put in a post?
The Shop continues reasonably busy, though less so than last year: it's the first year since it started that turnover is distinctly down on the previous year. Unsurprising given everything that's happening in the world, but a bit concerning on the micro-personal level.
Here are some things I've done:
Today I wandered along Freshwater East beach with Theo, and he was very good. He is mostly very good these days: indeed, he is so sedate, for a dog of five, that I wonder if he's quite right. I suppose it was quite a warm day, but I would have expected him to at least try to play with the lovely whippet x greyhounds who came lolloping across to playbow at him.
I'll cut his food back a bit. The vet said he was a little overweight 'but not too bad' last time he was there. I know the feeling, Theo.
This week, we heard that the boat engine was fixed - again! It's had a terrible time of it this year with techical problems and waits for parts, and given the cost of maintenance and storage, this is probably the last year we'll have the boat. So we are going to try to use it as much as possible while we've got it.
Thursday, we went out for a good wander around the Cleddau in the sunshine. We stopped at Watwick Bay, anchored, and I swam ashore and back. The sun on the clear water was wonderful.
Friday, Pp had his belated birthday present: an afternoon driving exciting cars at Haverfordwest airport. It was a very hot sunny day, but thankfully at least windy, because there was a surprising number of hours of queuing. I was glad I brought folding chairs. Still, he had fun, and the cars were quite interesting - though I think my favorite moment was not any of the supercars, but the amazing bus that drove around with a Mini driving on and off it.

This afternoon, I had a swim at Stackpole Quay, which was very quiet and green when I and my friend arrived, and very shortly afterwards, extremely freckled with rain. Undeterred, we swam anyway. Temperature I would guess was about 15-16C
